Bookkeeper (Union/Construction)

Midtown Manhattan | Fully Onsite | Up to $75K Base A mid-sized construction company is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the full scope of union payroll operations, reporting, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Administer full-cycle weekly union payroll — approximately 35 field employees and 8 corporate employees, with gross payroll exceeding $2.2M per quarter Set up and maintain pay tables in Sage 300 Process and reconcile union remittances, certified payroll, and prevailing wage reports Manage workers' compensation reporting/claims, payroll audits, and compliance reporting (OSHA, EEOC, OCIP/CCIP) Ensure compliance with NYS unemployment and payroll tax regulations; process and remit payroll taxes Handle job costing, payroll reconciliations, and identify/correct discrepancies within Sage 300 Prepare union reporting and external/government reporting as required Generate and format Excel reports (tables, payroll packages, data analysis) Support payroll system transition (ADP Workforce Now experience a plus) Manage payroll wrap-up/year-end processes, garnishments, and benefit remittances Provide managerial and administrative oversight of the payroll function Collaborate with leadership on payroll compliance matters Qualifications 3+ years of construction bookkeeping experience Union payroll experience at a level comparable to construction industry standards Hands-on experience with Sage 300 or Timberline Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently #J-18808-Ljbffr Partnership Employment
