Details\n \n Level 2 trauma acute care hospital setting in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16 \n Patient population includes trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress cases \n Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adults \n RNs required to titrate drips including cardiac, insulin, and sedation medications \n Respiratory equipment ranges from nasal cannula to ventilators, with RNs troubleshooting as needed \n Cardiac monitoring/telemetry required, including reading, interpreting, and documenting strips (GE monitors, with tele tech oversight) \n Nurse aide support available based on census, plus a Healthcare Support tech 3 days per week \n 12-hour day shifts (0630-1830) \n Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) \n Floating primarily to PCU and occasionally MedSurg at a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio \n Minimum of 2 holidays required within the contract timeframe \n Uses EPIC EMR \n On-call response time of 30 minutes if called back in \n Requirements\n \n Active RN license, State or Compact (NLC), specifically NE or compact license required \n Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required \n Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n Must be able to titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips \n Experience reading, interpreting, and documenting telemetry strips \n EPIC EMR experience \n Driver's license required at time of consideration to confirm residence location \n 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility \n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult ICU patients, including monitoring, medication titration, and telemetry interpretation \n Complete 1 shift of unit/department-specific orientation \n Pass a Wednesday open-book exam during orientation with a required score of 90% to continue the assignment \n Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply results in contract termination \n Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license \n Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year \n Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission \n Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment \n Self-scheduling available for core staff, with travelers incorporated; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed except for weekends-only requests \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-742971.
