Registered Respiratory Therapist – Medical City Arlington Shift: Days (Rotating – Weekends). Sign‑On Bonus of up to $30,000 may be available to new employees. Job Summary The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures for patients receiving invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation. What you will do Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure; conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy. Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy. Assist with placement of artificial airways; initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation. Monitor patients for therapeutic response; notify provider and intervene appropriately when an unintended response occurs. Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients. Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Neonate Resuscitation certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 60 months of employment start date. State registered Respiratory Therapist license. RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification within 60 months of employment start date. Associate Degree in Respiratory Care or related field. Minimum 1 year of RRT experience.
