Security Guard

The Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Security Guard at its LaGrange Middle School. This part‑time position involves patrolling an assigned area in order to safeguard our student and employee population as well as property. The duties may include providing safety at off‑hours events, such as sporting events — both home and away. Security Guards typically work 6‑hour shifts to be determined by the building principal or designated administrator. Interested applicants should have experience working with children and young adults and be able to de‑escalate difficult situations. Responsibilities Make rounds of the area assigned to Assist in traffic control during the arrival and dismissal of students Maintain order in hallways, study halls, dining areas, gymnasiums, etc. Inspect doors, windows, and locks Maintain a lookout for irregular occurrences Intervene in classroom confrontations and student fights if necessary, attempt to calm students removed from class for disciplinary reasons May escort students to and from special appointments Inform superiors of observations of student behavior Maintain simple records of unusual occurrences Perform related work as required Qualifications Must be licensed through NYS Department of State as a Security Guard Bilingual preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Arlington Central School District
