Description: Receives patients and explains methods of procedures. Positions patients and selects technical factors. Sets accessory equipment and makes necessary exposures. Works with patients to assess needs and provide assistance. Monitors patients' vital signs. Performs a variety of difficult radiographic examinations. Demonstrates thoroughness and attention to detail in work. Uses knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques. Evaluates technical information related to the job. Advises others on technical issues. Determines technical factors and applies procedural guidelines. Calculates correct exposure factors such as time, distance, kVp, and mAs. Controls image quality through patient positioning and image production. Establishes requirements for nonstandard examinations. Knowledge of radiation protection standards and techniques. Performs necessary quality control for assigned modalities. Carries out various digital radiology duties including image management. Maintains and troubleshoots radiology equipment. Conducts routine and complex exams. Maintains professional qualifications through ongoing training. Knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology. Makes informed decisions and perceives the impact of those decisions. Acts to achieve organizational goals even in uncertain situations. Maintains records of patient examinations and equipment use. Represents the department in staff meetings and updates. Plans and coordinates work operations in the radiology department. Requisitions supplies as needed for department operations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Requires above-average social interaction skills and analytical reasoning.
