Mainframe Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and support complex mainframe applications while driving system enhancements, performance optimization, and end-to-end software delivery .

Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Mainframe Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM technologies.
• Analyze business requirements and create detailed technical designs, program specifications, and development estimates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues through effective debugging, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Support release management, code migrations, and implementation activities while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and stakeholders, ensuring scalable solutions and continuous improvement of existing applications.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Mainframe Application Development, including COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and mainframe development tools such as Endevor, FileManager, CA7, IDZ, GitLab, and TSO.
• Proven expertise in application design, debugging, performance.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
