What you’ll doAssist Vice President of Land with sourcing new land acquisition opportunitiesAnalyze potential land acquisitions and due diligence inspection materialsDevelop and analyze land proformas and homebuilding proformas (required proficiency with Microsoft Excel)Perform necessary due diligence including coordination with consultants for the completion of all necessary due diligenceIn coordination with the Project Manager/Land Development Manager, develop land plans, project scheduling, budgeting, and cash flowsPromote project and community vision and designParticipate in housing product development and translate into land planningMaintain strong relationships with vendors, brokers, government authorities and other project stakeholdersMake Mattamy the “Developer/Builder of Choice” such that Mattamy has the first look at land opportunitiesManage land acquisition reports and provide to Corporate OfficeManage land dispositionsAnalyze asset dispositions such as excess land Analyze asset management strategies to optimize the asset (hold, re-plan, develop, etc.)What you bringBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business, Finance, Real Estate or a related field3+ years land acquisition experience, preferably in residential homebuildingAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modelling is requiredExperience in land acquisition/dispositions and development analysis, preferably in a single-family residential context and ideally focusing on the local marketplaceUnderstanding of planning policies and regulations across the local markets municipalities is desirableExperience with Metro Study and other general market analysis softwareFamiliarity with land development and amenity construction budgeting/cash flowsSelf-motivated, independent, and detail orientedOther required software proficiency: Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader (PDFs)Concise writing and public speaking/presentation skills are desirable for reporting to senior investment committeeAbility to cope in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple proformas and deadlinesGeneral aptitude for business and real estate financeProven track record of excelling within a team-oriented and collaborative environmentA self-starter with the capacity to work independentlyHistory of pulling together relevant market data and performing comparable project analysisBe yourself.
