Position Highlights:

• Logistics:

  • Pay: $27.77+ per hour
  • Contract Type: 6 months and an additional 6-month option period.
  • Schedule: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded
  • Location: 4500 S. Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216

• Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship
  • 3+ years of Electrician experience and knowledge in the construction field
  • Active Texas state Electrician license
  • OSHA 30-hour construction certification
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Work at heights and climb ladders.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Work in high temperatures.
  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes.
  • Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA-approved respirator and proper fit tested.
  • Standing and bending for long periods of time.
  • NFPA 70E (electrical safety) certification (Preferred)
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus

What does a typical day look like for the Electricians?

You will:

• 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.

• Responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrical systems throughout the hospital, including motors, HVAC components, alarms, medical and laboratory equipment, lighting, and major utility infrastructure such as switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems

• Troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic instruments, installing and modifying circuits and conduits, performing preventive maintenance on motors and control equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and the National Electrical Code.

• Works with minimal supervision, may oversee helpers, and must understand the hazards of working with voltages up to 4160 volts AC.

What qualifications do you look for?

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
