Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Technician Chestnut Street Animal Hospital, Needham, MA. $26.00 an hour (flexibility based on experience). Schedule: 34 hours on Tues-Fri, no weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Assisting the doctors in appointments Take patient histories from clients for appointments Technician appointments Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage, etc.) Communicating with clients via phone and in-person Executing treatment orders, canine and feline vaccine knowledge and schedule Demonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets in waiting and/or exam rooms Prepares patient files and charts Answers client inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures Educates clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventions Receives and relays telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly Maintain accuracy with cash drawer, credit card-scratch pay and CareCredit transactions This position requires the ability to sit, walk, squat, bend, stand, reach, lift and type Monitor anesthesia for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures, including injections, oral medications, blood draws, basic pharmacology and bandaging Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling Continuing education allowance and professional development support Mental Health Resources Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave Perks for Your Pets Pet Care: Discounts on veterinary services and products Diagnostics: Savings on reference lab testing Nutrition: Discounts on Purina pet foods Insurance: Preferred rates with our pet insurance partner

REQUIREMENTS
