Geologist 2 The Geologist 2 position is within the Iowa Department of Transportation's Construction and Materials Bureau, based in Ames. You will provide geological expertise to ensure quality and safety of materials used in highway and bridge construction, working with aggregate producers and construction teams. Responsibilities include field work at quarries, laboratory testing using specialized equipment, and evaluating pavement performance to support Iowa's transportation infrastructure. Key Qualifications Graduation from accredited four-year college with degree in geology, physical geography, or closely related geological science OR: degree in natural science, computer science, math, or engineering with 2+ years full-time work in groundwater, soils, environmental geology, or GIS Valid driver's license Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 75 pounds and walk up to two miles on uneven terrain Strong attention to detail and collaborative problem-solving skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
