Direct Support Professional I (Homes)

Part‑time position. Job Overview Direct Support Professional in a Home and Community‑Based Services (HCBS) setting. This role collaborates with the care team to implement individualized behavioral care plans and supports individuals in achieving personal goals. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with HCBS Supervisor and Programmer to develop goals for each individual served. Provide tailored services based on each person’s goals and behavioral care plan, including teaching skills, applying behavioral strategies, and motivating participation. Participate in recreational, community, and social activities, honoring the choices of the individuals. Apply rights‑restrictions appropriately as determined by the interdisciplinary team. Maintain complete, consistent, and accurate documentation of progress. Offer safe environments and instruction to help individuals reach their goals, including assistance with hygiene, clothing, medication, and dietary needs. Assist with transfers of individuals (wheelchair, chair, bed, etc.). Lift up to 35 pounds; heavier lifts require assistance or equipment. Participate in activities such as church services, swimming, bowling, etc. Walk and stand up to eight hours. Bend, stoop, and stretch frequently. Drive up to eight hours when required. Work in various climatic conditions. Handle difficult emotional and physical behaviors. Maintain visual and auditory abilities as described in the job posting.
