Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Amherst, NY

Responsibilities:

• Verifies patient demographics including name, address, date-of-birth, primary physician and current insurance from insurance websites.
• Checking referral based insurance plans to make sure we secured a referral prior to the patient’s appointment.
• Calls patients to cancel appointments in which a referral is not secured.   
• Utilizes websites and makes phone calls to insurance companies to obtain eligibility and benefit information for specific appointment types.
• Determines when deductible, copay and coinsurance apply and how much patients should bring in at time of service.  Making sure provider participates with the patient’s insurance plan.
• Communicates any issues and out of pocket expenses to the patient prior to appointment.  
• Assists in compilation of data for regular and special reports as requested by Team Leader or other personnel.

 

Compensation:

• Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
• Rates are commensurate with experience
