Job Description

Our client is a U.S. based manufacturer of integrated security and access control solutions, serving dealers and integrators with purpose-built hardware and software systems. The company designs and produces its products domestically, with a focus on reliability, innovation, and long-term partnerships in the electronic security industry.

The Product Manager of Software and Service Solutions will guide the organization on service capabilities, user experience and business profitability to deliver software functionality with the company’s portfolio of applications and web services used both with customers and in the sales channel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage internal and external customer expectations and communications. The primary goal of this position will be to successfully build and manage customer relationships, communications, and expectations to reduce risk to the company utilizing effective communication.
\n
• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, upper management, and external customers. Also, effectively communicate with team members, internal and external customers to provide clear direction, planning, clarification, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution. Submit and present to senior management weekly product updates and detailed specifications.
\n
• Develop a deep understanding of all company products by: working with product managers, dealer visits and discussions to identify and fill product gaps while generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
\n
• Personally conduct, and guide teams in conducting market research that includes customers, competitors, employees, sales, and marketing teams.
\n
• Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
\n
• Prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
\n
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, services, training, and support with quick time-to-market. Drive product launches. Set and publish launch dates.
\n
• Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with the product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed. Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
\n
• Continuously strive to find processes that create improved efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements. Acknowledge responsibility to satisfy the customer, reduce cycle time and eliminate waste.

Qualifications

\n
• 4+ years of Product Management experience, leading software applications (preferably in the security or life safety industry).
\n
• Previous experience managing mobile application operation, with in-depth understanding of product specifications, competitors and the security market landscape.
\n
• Track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
\n
• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentations to large and small technical audiences.
\n
• Previous experience communicating requirements to engineering teams and business leaders and managing requirements modifications during product development.
\n
• Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a business setting.
\n
• Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking abilities.
\n
• Ability to create long-term strategic gameplans while staying on top of critical issues that arise day to day.
\n
• Adept at working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Able to travel to visit existing and prospective customers.
\n
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to keep information in confidence.
\n

Nice to Have

\n
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or related field and/or proven work experience in product management
\n
• Certified Product Manager (CPM) through AIPMM or equivalent organization
\n
• Experience working in Jira and Confluence
\n
