Technical Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Technical Support Specialist I provides Tier 1 technical support for IT end points including PCs, printers, and network devices at multiple airport and corporate locations. This role is integral to the 24/7 IT Service Desk operation, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and maintaining operational continuity across the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority facilities. Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 1 technical support for IT end points such as PCs, printers, wired, and wireless devices.
• Operate within the Airports Authority help desk environment supporting 24/7, 365 days per year operations.
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting and repair using basic technical support tools.
• Work at various locations including Ronald Reagan Washington Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Corporate Headquarters based on operational needs.
• Maintain security compliance by adhering to AOA badging requirements.
• Participate in shift rotations and provide coverage outside regular hours as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience supporting IT end points such as PCs and printers.
• Minimum 1 year experience in service desk or call center support.
• CompTIA A+ certification.
• Basic technical support toolkit proficiency (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, sockets).
• Ability to obtain and maintain AOA security access badge.
• Reliable transportation to work at multiple sites.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience supporting wired and wireless network devices.
• Familiarity with airport IT environments.

Special Considerations:

• Must obtain and maintain AOA security access badging.

• Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Occasional requirement to work outside regularly scheduled hours.

Scheduling:

• Primary shift is typically 8:00 pm to 6:30 am.
• Shift patterns may include Monday through Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
• Other shifts include Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday 8:00 pm 6:30 am (four 10-hour days with 30-minute lunch).
• 24/7 help desk coverage with shift flexibility required.
