You will leverage your field-based understanding of mechanical systems to build accurate and competitive bids without being micro-managed. You will play a pivotal role in identifying project risks and driving contract acquisitions across commercial and industrial sectors.How You Will Make an ImpactReview building plans, drawings, and engineering specifications to establish accurate project scopes.Perform detailed quantity takeoffs across commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and ductwork systems.Calculate comprehensive labor hours, equipment requirements, and total material costs for each project.Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor quotations and manufacturer material pricing.Identify potential constructability risks and propose value engineering solutions during pre-bid analysis.Prepare and submit complete, accurate, and highly competitive final mechanical bid packages.Coordinate seamlessly with project management teams to hand over awarded contracts for field execution.Required Qualifications & ExperienceProven track record in preparing complete mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and piping estimates from concept to final bid.Strong practical understanding of field installation practices and mechanical construction workflows.Demonstrated experience evaluating subcontractor bids, analyzing risk, and performing material price comparisons.Proficiency in reading complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.Preferred Qualifications & Experience6+ years of related mechanical estimating and project management experience.Deep technical expertise in commercial and industrial HVAC, process piping, and ductwork systems.Experience working with prevailing wage projects, government contracts, or large-scale industrial sites.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive annual salary with performance bonuses and weekly pay structure.Project completion bonuses and pay-per-performance incentives.Access to prevailing wage projects.401(k) retirement savings program with employer matching.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.Life and disability insurance options.Company vehicle provided.Travel project opportunities with per diem.Complete safety equipment provided.Ongoing career development including safety, technical, manufacturer, and OSHA training.About UsEl Paso JAG Inc. is a premier mechanical and HVAC contractor specializing in residential, commercial, and government projects.
