Bay Medical Management LLC is a Management Services Organization (MSO) focused on practice management, professional and technical health, and is a subsidiary of Bay Imaging Consultants. Our 110+ board‑certified radiologists provide professional radiology services to 12 Bay Area hospitals. The PET/CT Technologist II will operate the computed tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanners to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies for invasive and non‑invasive procedures, as directed by Radiologists. The position is per diem and will involve variable working days and times. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares and performs PET/CT imaging, operating equipment according to laws and regulations governing the use of the equipment. Ensures that essential information for daily operations is passed between technologists, receptionists, radiologists on duty, and Lead/Managers. Assists in the training and orientation of new employees and provides ongoing training as required. Follows site standard protocol and discusses findings and protocols with Radiologists. Reviews exam orders for scheduling and protocol accuracy under the direction of the Medical Director or Supervising Radiologist. Acts as liaison with referring physician offices through personal interaction with staff and physicians. Performs equipment quality assurance checks, troubleshoots equipment problems, and reports statistics. Properly documents and informs supervisors of all adverse reactions, monitors patient safety and comfort. Coordinates patient flow to maximize productivity while maintaining high standards of patient care. Responds to minor patient concerns, refers significant concerns to Site Manager or Lead Technologist, and logs them. Maintains and cleans equipment and work area, ensuring staff standards are met. Prepares and administers contrast media and radiopharmaceuticals per site‑specific protocols and under Radiologist direction. Adjusts and operates PET/CT equipment to scan designated anatomical areas of patients. Assists with injections and ensures patient safety by following all pressure injector protocols. Interviews patients, explains procedures, screens for contraindications, and transfers patients to exam area. Assists patients onto examination tables and adjusts positioning devices for optimal views. Draws up contrast materials and prepares sterile trays. Coordinates delivery of calibrated doses for scheduled patients. Checks and reviews prior films/studies/history. Processes images, including 3‑D images. Operates all relevant equipment and computer applications (EHR, CR, PACS). Practices safety procedures and demonstrates age‑related concerns in radiographing neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Certificate of completion of technical training from an AMA‑approved institution. Minimum 3+ years staff technologist experience. Graduate of an accredited 2‑ or 4‑year Nuclear Medicine Program. Actively holds a CNMT or ARRT(N) license and CNMT or ARRT (CT) advanced certification. California Nuclear Medical Technologist License registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB). Current Advanced CT certification (CT) from the ARRT and/or NMTCB. Current CPR/BLS certificate (Healthcare Provider). Advanced Venipuncture Techniques for Contrast Media Administration skills. Working knowledge of PET/CT and Diagnostic CT equipment, protocols, cross‑sectional anatomy, sterile procedures, and medical terminology. General knowledge of first aid techniques. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Strong problem‑solving ability and adaptability in situations with limited standardization. COMPENSATION Rate range: $96.65 – $104.52 (this includes 15% in lieu of benefits). Salary may also be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data alignment.
