Physician - Women Health PACT

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. Award amounts (up to $200,000) and eligibility periods (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the basic requirements listed below and any additional requirements specified in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA physicians who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation. United States citizenship. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine. Degree obtained from a VA‑approved medical school for the year in which the study was completed. Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US state, territory, Commonwealth, or Washington, D.C., or a provisional license for island territories per VA policy. Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program leading to board‑certification eligibility. Residency may be one of the following: Approved ACGME or AOA residency/fellowship completed in a core specialty. One year of post‑medical‑school training (internship, first year of residency, or transitional year) followed by two years of independent practice. Non‑US residency program followed by a minimum of three years of verified independent practice in the United States. Residents currently enrolled in accredited residency programs who meet the basic requirements may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) on an intermittent basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements: work is performed primarily in a clinic setting and requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting of medical records or supplies. Duties Provide integrated outpatient women’s health services to a panel of female Veterans at the Fredericksburg Veterans Affairs Health Care Center. Practice as a member of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and coordinate comprehensive women's health care for veterans. Conduct patient evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for common and complex illnesses across a broad spectrum of systems relevant to women’s health. Offer gender‑specific care, including cancer screenings and reproductive health services. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop sustained, person‑centered partnerships with patients.
