Sunny View is looking to add a part time Activities Assistant to our team. Activities Assistants in a long-term care facility is responsible for implementing recreational and therapeutic programs that enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of residents.
Typical Job Responsibilities
- Activity Facilitation: Lead daily group and individual activities, including arts and crafts, music, games (e.g., bingo), exercise classes, and outdoor excursions.
- Resident Engagement: Encourage participation in events, especially for residents with cognitive impairments like dementia.
- Logistics & Support: Transport residents to and from activity areas, set up and clean up activity spaces, and distribute monthly activity calendars.
- Documentation: Record resident participation levels, moods, and behaviors to evaluate progress and meet regulatory requirements.
- Planning: Assist the Activities Director in developing monthly event calendars and individual care plans.
Standard Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification; Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred but not required
