About the Position

Job Title: RN Procedural Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current RN License issued by the appropriate state board of nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Must-Have: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a specialty area. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and families in sharing care plans during hospitalization and at discharge. Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is essential. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services while applying nursing techniques is required. Maintains good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Responds effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are needed. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in providing excellent specialized care is essential. Completion of orientation and the ability to function independently in the assigned specialty area may be required prior to being assigned to this position. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
