RN Inpatient- Surgical Services- FT Nights

Marshfield Clinic – Archive is seeking an RN Inpatient – Surgical Services – FT Nights to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team at Marshfield Children’s, a Wisconsin-based pediatric care provider within a large, integrated health system. In this full-time night-shift role, you will provide compassionate, family-centered inpatient nursing care to pediatric surgical patients, including pre- and post-operative care, ongoing assessment, pain and symptom management, and coordination of multidisciplinary services. You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient status, respond to changes in condition, and ensure safe transitions of care. Working within a collaborative, patient-first culture, you will partner closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatric hospitalists, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based surgical care for children and their families.

You will advocate for patients and families by providing clear education about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, discharge instructions, and at-home care, tailoring communication to varied developmental and cultural needs. You will support parents and caregivers through stressful situations with empathy, integrity, and professionalism. The role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, acute care environment while adhering to all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards. You will consistently document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record, participate in bedside handoffs, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
