Required Application Materials Resume and Cover Letter are required Job Details Job Summary Department Fiscal Specialist provides fiscalcoordination, account support, and leadership for a department orprogram. This role oversees all aspects of support for fullyfunded doctoral students, including insurance enrollment, paymentadministration, and coordination of related student fundingprocesses. Core Responsibilities Oversees fiscal, grant, and accounting-related matters formultiple funding sources. Oversees and prepares, processes, and checks various electronicaccounting documents. Analyzes data for accuracy and initiates corrective action whennecessary. Maintains detailed reports and records of accounting data,including preparing and tracking budgets and preparing billings,financial reports, and related correspondence. Assists in the development and preparation of the annual budgetfor the department. Assists faculty and staff with financial administrativematters. Provides analysis and interpretation of financial reports anddata; provides recommendations for fiscal expenditures andmanagement. Assists in the development and implementation of fiscalpolicies and procedures for the department. Provides direction and training to staff regarding fiscalmanagement, policies, and procedures. Assists in the coordination and administration of specialprojects. Attends meetings; serves on committees. Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in varioustasks. Performs work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance withwork instructions. Proactively makes recommendations to improve safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma. At the department's discretion, a Bachelor's degree may besubstituted for four (4) years of experience. Five (5) years of related work experience. This position may require the ability to maintain the securityand integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per TexasEO-GA-48. Preferred Qualifications Experience processing payments, reimbursements, stipends,invoices, or other financial transactions. Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to maintainaccuracy in financial records and data entry. Knowledge of financial, accounting, payroll, or student fundingprocesses.
