Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A travel night pharmacy technician role is available in Gardena, CA, offering a unique opportunity to support inpatient pharmacy operations at a busy facility with 173 licensed beds and an average daily census of 140 patients. This position is on a 5-on/5-off schedule, with 10-hour shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, perfect for those seeking a focused night shift experience. The assignment duration is between 8 to 13 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately and efficiently.
- Compound intravenous medications (IVs), including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
- Deliver medications promptly to various nursing units throughout the facility.
- Handle telephone inquiries professionally, ensuring smooth pharmacy communication.
- Maintain accurate documentation using the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is essential.
- Skilled in making IVs and filling Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
- Familiarity with Allscripts and/or Paragon systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on night shifts with attention to detail and strong time management.
- Valid pharmacy technician license as required by the state of California.

- Gardena, California, with the potential need to travel and relocate depending on assignment requirements.
