Hours: Shift Start Time: 7 PM | Shift End Time: 7:30 AM | AWS Hours Requirement: 12/36 - 12 Hour Shift | Weekend Requirements: Every Other | On-Call Required: No Pay Range: $61,740 – $70,170 – $90,160 (based on years of RN experience, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and its nursing union). What You Will Do Provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families. Use systematic planning, appropriate methods, and timely exchange of information with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care. Focus on and manage multiple patient needs and aspects of care, actively communicating with the care team. Utilize available resources to problem‑solve and determine the most effective approach to action. Apply the nursing process and critical thinking to provide patient care that is individualized, goal‑directed, and consistent with current safety standards. Identify actual or potential problems and risks, continuously evaluate interventions, and adjust plans as patient and family needs change. Make appropriate referrals based on ongoing assessments and provide a comprehensive plan of care. Precept or teach other nurses on applying the nursing process within a unit population. Document care per department/entity guidelines, ensuring a concise picture of patient care and serving as a resource for unit‑specific documentation issues. Delegate and assign care delivery, ensuring tasks are completed with appropriate supervision and quality checks. Assist coworkers in improving performance by offering constructive feedback and support. Establish therapeutic relationships, anticipating and addressing spiritual, cultural, and communication barriers. Serve as a patient advocate, interpreting for patients and facilitating education on recovery, self‑care, end‑of‑life, and wellness. Coordinate transfer and discharge planning and collaborate on patient education materials. Mentor and support coworkers, promoting clinical effectiveness and efficient use of resources. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing school. One year of clinical RN experience (new graduates will complete the new‑grad requirements). California Registered Nurse (RN) license – CA Board of Registered Nursing – required. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – required. Lead delegation and communication of care delivery expectations to the team. Assess appropriateness of physician orders and query when necessary. Support coworkers through constructive feedback, assistance, and facilitation of professional growth. Establish therapeutic relationships and adapt interventions to diverse cultural and social needs. Advocate for patients, remove barriers, and support appropriate needs and wants. Provide patient education, coordinate discharge, and develop patient education materials.
