Family Service Specialist Responsibilities Assist families in crisis through DCFS programs, including Family Habilitation Services, Visitation, and Housing. Prepare written reports, maintain accurate records, and provide court testimony. Prepare and sign client progress reports monthly, documenting scheduled dates, units of service, specific goals, and recommendations for future service. Immediately report child abuse, neglect, significant events, and unusual incidents to supervisor. Attend all mandated training. Teach and demonstrate homemaking, parenting, anger management, and resource utilization in clients’ homes. Provide transportation for supervised visitation and observe parent‑child interactions, redirecting according to parenting needs. Help families locate housing (public, private rent, or shelter) throughout the local area. Assist clients with job searching and community resources. Family Service Specialist Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Associate’s degree from an accredited institution or two years of social work experience related to child welfare. Dependable automobile, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance. Pass the CANTS background check and other required background checks. Benefits Pay is $17/HR. Daily pay available for select positions. Flexible schedule – full time and part time available. Direct deposit. Reimbursement for mileage $0.70/mile.
