We are seeking an HR Coordinator for a contract opportunity in the Columbia, SC area. This role will support a variety of human resources functions, including employee relations, leave administration, benefits coordination, workers' compensation, onboarding, and general HR operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable handling sensitive employee matters while maintaining accurate records and supporting day-to-day HR activities. Responsibilities: Support employee leave processes, ensuring requests are documented and tracked in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Assist with benefits administration, including responding to employee inquiries and supporting enrollment and changes. Coordinate workers' compensation activities, maintain records, and communicate with employees and third-party partners as needed. Provide onboarding support and assist with a variety of HR administrative functions. Support recruiting activities, including candidate screening, interview coordination, and documentation. Maintain accurate employee records and update information within HR systems. Utilize Excel and other tools to organize data, track HR activity, and support reporting needs. Respond to employee questions and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and empathy. Assist the HR team with day-to-day operational needs, helping ensure continuity and efficient department support.

• Experience supporting human resources functions such as benefits administration, leave management, onboarding, or HR compliance. • Ability to interact with employees in a compassionate, attentive manner, especially when addressing sensitive or challenging concerns. • Proficiency with HRIS platforms; experience with Paycom is strongly preferred. • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas and VLOOKUP functions. • Familiarity with candidate screening processes and general HR recordkeeping practices. • Knowledge of workers’ compensation administration and employee leave coordination is preferred. • Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
