Location 6231 Lee Highway, Suite 10,Chattanooga, TN, 37421,United States Employee Type FT Exempt Assistant Branch Manager Job Summary The Assistant Branch Manager supports the daily operations of an Inline Electric Supply branch by assisting with sales activities, inventory management, employee support, and customer relationships. This role works closely with the Branch Manager to ensure operational efficiency, service excellence, and team performance. The Assistant Branch Manager is a hands‑on leader who contributes to counter sales, job quoting, order fulfillment, and inventory oversight while supporting employees and customers in a fast‑paced branch environment. Essential Functions Assist with daily branch operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and customer‑focused service. Support counter sales activities, including assisting customers, processing orders, and resolving service issues. Prepare and assist with job quotes, including supporting commercial and large‑scale sales Review, research, and resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy. Assist with filling, staging, and processing customer orders to meet service and delivery expectations. Provide support and guidance to employees regarding operational questions, customer needs, and workflow issues. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, and vendors. Assist sales staff with commercial job quotes, pricing questions, and order coordination. Approve employee time entries as assigned and ensure compliance with timekeeping procedures. Address and resolve inventory‑related issues in coordination with warehouse and sales teams. Communicate operational priorities, issues, and updates to the Branch Manager. Support branch leadership in enforcing company policies, procedures, and performance expectations. Step in to support branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager as directed. Follow all company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by branch leadership. Required Skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Solid customer service and relationship‑building skills. Basic proficiency with computer systems and branch software. Demonstrated leadership and decision‑making skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team. Strong problem‑solving and operational judgment. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field preferred. Two to five years of prior supervisory or management experience required. Valid driver’s license with an approved motor vehicle record. Compliance with company drug‑free workplace requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials weighing up to 60 pounds or more. Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively with customers and team members. Ability to work in a fast‑paced branch and warehouse environment.
