Company Description Texas InnoVent Renewables uses proprietary technology to shred waste tires in to valuable products such as crumb rubber and recycled steel.

Role Description The Facilities Manager for the recycling plant is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for overseeing daily facility operations, including plant maintenance, equipment performance, and coordination of utilities and services to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. The Facilities Manager will develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, manage contractors and vendors, monitor facility budgets, and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, support commissioning and upgrades of equipment, and collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and HSE teams. The role includes supervising facility staff, maintaining detailed records and reports, and responding promptly to operational issues or emergencies to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant recycling, tire handling experience
• MUST be a local resident or US Citizen. No visa processing.
• Proven experience in facilities management, plant operations, or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing, chemical, or recycling environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems (e.g., shredder, rasper, fiber removal, power distribution) and associated maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated ability to implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs and use CMMS or similar maintenance management tools.
• Solid understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices in industrial facility operations.
• Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service providers, including negotiating and monitoring service level agreements.
• Effective leadership skills, with experience supervising or coordinating technical and maintenance teams in a plant setting.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using standard office and reporting tools (e.g., MS Office, digital reporting systems) and documenting facility KPIs and maintenance activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, industrial technology

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Operations Management

• Oversee all operational aspects of the recycling yard, including inbound material flow, processing, outbound shipments, and yard organization

• Ensure smooth daily operations with minimal downtime and maximum efficiency

• Maintain proper material segregation, grading accuracy, and inventory control

• Coordinate loading, unloading, and processing schedules

Personnel Management

• Supervise, train, and manage all yard staff, equipment operators, scale operators, and support personnel

• Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and enforce accountability

• Enforce company policies, attendance, productivity, and workplace conduct

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions as needed

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards at all times

• Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and incident reporting

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal recycling regulations

• Maintain proper documentation and permits

Equipment & Maintenance

• Oversee daily inspections and maintenance of all equipment, including loaders, forklifts, shear, baler, trucks, and support machinery

• Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime

• Ensure proper use and care of all company equipment

Customer & Vendor Relations

• Ensure a professional, efficient, and fair experience for all customers and vendors

• Resolve operational issues, disputes, or material concerns promptly

• Maintain strong communication with suppliers, transporters, and corporate leadership

Reporting & Performance Tracking

• Track production metrics, throughput, downtime, and labor efficiency

• Monitor shrink, losses, and operational inefficiencies

• Provide regular reports and updates to ownership and senior management
