This contract position offers the chance to focus on your strengths and preferred caseload, with openings ranging from working with mild support needs at Bee Tree Elementary to serving students with autism, multiple severe disabilities, preschoolers, or emotional disturbance at dedicated school sites. High school educators specializing in emotional disturbance (ED Cope) are also encouraged to apply.
Your days will be spent at an assigned elementary or high school, working onsite, collaborating with staff, and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) to foster student growth and achievement. The assignment runs from August 5, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. This rewarding contract role is ideal for educators with the right experience and passion for helping students thrive.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold a valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) license
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, comfortable managing IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Skilled at adapting curriculum, fostering inclusion, and advocating for students’ unique needs
- Willing to work fully onsite—remote positions are not available
- Committed to creating an encouraging classroom environment and positive behavioral support
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and interventions based on individual student needs
- Build and update IEPs, maintain compliance, and track progress
- Work closely with families, therapists, and faculty to support holistic development
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning space
