Industrial Mechanic
Location: Sunnyvale, Texas
Pay Rate: $24.00
Schedule: 7:30am-4pm, Mon-Fri, | Monday–Friday |
SuiteMate Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Mechanic to support operations at a water treatment facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial equipment, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Essential Job Duties Mechanical Maintenance- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial mechanical equipment.
- Service and repair large industrial pumps, gearboxes, valves, chemical-feed systems, and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and determine the most effective repair solutions.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and improve system reliability.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades as needed.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Work safely around water treatment systems, chemicals, rotating equipment, and confined industrial environments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete maintenance logs, repair records, and preventive maintenance documentation accurately.
- Report equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform additional maintenance and plant-support duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or equipment repair preferred.
- Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, valves, motors, bearings, or chemical-feed systems is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical testing equipment.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work in an industrial plant environment around machinery and chemicals.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds .
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work around loud machinery, industrial equipment, and water treatment operations.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Industrial maintenance experience in a water treatment, wastewater, manufacturing, or utility environment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience with rotating equipment and industrial pumps.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems.
