Job Description


The Department of Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is pleased to announce a new recruitment for an additional academic surgical pathologist and/or cytopathologist. We are inviting applications from qualified candidates at all ranks for a full-time, tenure earning/tenured position through the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine.

Required Qualifications


The candidates should have an M.D. (or M.D., Ph.D.), Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology; board certification in Cytopathology and/or fellowship training in bone/soft tissue pathology will be a plus. The candidate should be eligible for a license to practice medicine in Alabama. The successful candidate beyond starting Assistant Professors should have a national reputation in academic pathology and a track record of a competitive basic, translational, and/or clinically focused research program.

Preferred Qualifications


Subspecialty expertise will be favorably considered.
