Warehouse Material Handler

The Warehouse Material Handler manages incoming and outgoing shipments, ensures accuracy in order fulfillment, and maintains inventory records in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in the supply chain by receiving, storing, and shipping materials, parts, and products efficiently while supporting production and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Support all inbound shipment activities, including unloading deliveries from trailers to the dock using a hand truck and/or forklift, handling heavy equipment unloads, and safely moving materials within the facility.
• Segregate inbound materials into direct and indirect categories and stage materials in designated areas to support external and internal teams.
• Support the Production Control team by moving materials for quality inspection, executing put-away actions, and issuing materials to production teams as needed.
• Assist employees in preparing outbound parcel and freight shipments, ensuring they are processed accurately through the appropriate shipment request forms.
• Assist Shipping & Receiving and Production Control teams by clearing out dunnage and removing empty boxes and crates from the inbound dock to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Use basic spreadsheet tools, such as Excel or Google Sheets, to support inventory tracking and documentation.
• Utilize ERP or WMS systems, when required, to support inventory control, material handling, and order processing activities.
• Follow established work instructions and contribute to their creation or improvement using Microsoft Word and related systems.
• Adhere to safety procedures and best practices when operating material handling equipment and performing lifting tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient material flow throughout the facility.

Essential Skills

• Experience supporting warehouse and production functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive, aerospace, electric vehicle, or related industries.
• Hands-on experience with material handling, including operating a forklift and using a hand truck for unloading and moving materials.
• Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems to support inventory control and warehouse operations.
• Experience with inventory control and material handling processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to use spreadsheets, including Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, to support data entry and inventory tracking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and related systems for creating and maintaining work instructions.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• English communication skills, both oral and written, to read work instructions, complete documentation, and collaborate with team members.
• Willingness and ability to work both 1st and 2nd shift schedules as production needs change.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, electric vehicle, aerospace, or other related manufacturing industries.
• Previous exposure to medium-duty vehicle or electric vehicle manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems beyond basic user level.
• Experience in inventory management or inventory control within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Comfort working with technology tools and software for documentation, reporting, and work instruction creation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials, documentation, and shipment preparation.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with Shipping & Receiving, Production Control, and production teams.
• Adaptability to changing production schedules and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, very clean manufacturing environment focused on producing medium-duty electric vehicles. The position requires flexibility to work both 1st and 2nd shifts as production needs evolve. Current 1st shift schedules may run from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while 2nd shift typically runs from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The environment involves working around production lines, warehouse areas, and shipping docks, using equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and other material handling tools. Team members operate within a structured, safety-conscious setting that leverages ERP/WMS systems, spreadsheets, and digital work instructions to manage inventory and production support activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garden Grove, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
