Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 Contract Weeks: 8

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Scrub technician experience: Preferred
• Operating room experience and/or training course: Preferred
• Surgery Technician certification: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in preparation for surgical procedures.
• Create and maintain a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons.
• Perform technical skills including the maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Collect data on assigned surgical cases by unit-based performance standards.
• Perform housekeeping duties as requested.
• Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities.
• Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards.
• Label solutions according to established standards.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
