Interim Sr. Accounting ManagerSenior Accounting ManagerOur client, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations and help build scalable financial infrastructure in a rapidly growing environment.This role is hybrid in Austin, Texas. Remote candidates will be considered; however, candidates should be available during Central Time business hours. This role has an initial duration of approximately 3 months, with potential for extension and possible conversion to a full-time position.Responsibilities:Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare and review financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAPManage accounting activities related to government contracts, invoicing, compliance requirements, and contract administrationSupport the development, monitoring, and reconciliation of indirect cost structures and related accounting analysesMaintain accounting records and supporting documentation to satisfy regulatory and compliance requirementsOversee operational accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliations, and billing processesManage contract and milestone-based invoicing to ensure accuracy and timely billingDevelop and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating proceduresIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiencyPartner with business stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insights that support decision-makingRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred5 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibilityStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliationsExperience supporting government contracts, contract accounting, government invoicing, or other regulated contracting environmentsDemonstrated ability to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational workflows within a growing organizationCompensation:Determining compensation for this role depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: the individual's skill sets, experience, and training; licensure and certifications; office location and other geographic considerations; other business and organizational needs.
