Role Overview

You will collaborate with industry-leading automation specialists and 5G Core Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and implement secure, scalable, and reusable CI/CD solutions leveraging Azure DevOps (ADO) Pipelines, Azure cloud services, and containerized environments.

This position extends beyond traditional pipeline development. You will play a key role in advancing our automation capabilities through agentic AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-enabled tools. Your focus will be on streamlining software delivery, minimizing manual effort, and improving the speed and efficiency of pipeline troubleshooting and issue resolution.

You will also drive technical discussions with client project teams and Network Function (NF) SMEs, convert business and technical requirements into effective automation solutions, and contribute to establishing engineering best practices and standards across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain multi-stage YAML CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO) to automate the deployment, upgrade, and validation of 5G Core Network Functions (NFs) across lab and production environments.
• Develop and manage reusable, version-controlled pipeline templates and standardized CI/CD workflows, taking solutions from proof of concept (PoC) through production implementation while ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Collaborate with 5G Core SMEs and Network Function vendors to validate vendor deliverables, including container images, Helm charts, and configurations, ensuring alignment with security and DevOps best practices.
• Build AI-powered automation solutions using LLMs, AI agents, and MCP servers to analyze pipeline failures, interpret logs, monitor deployment health, and recommend remediation, with human approval for production-impacting actions.
• Design and maintain reusable AI agent skills, including instructions, scripts, and supporting resources, to automate engineering workflows such as pipeline onboarding, troubleshooting, Helm chart validation, and release note preparation.
• Embed security and compliance throughout the CI/CD lifecycle through secrets management, image scanning, approval gates, and least-privilege service connections.
• Lead and participate in pull request reviews, ensuring code quality, consistent branching strategies, and compliance with deployment standards.
• Partner with internal tools and engineering teams to improve testing frameworks and automation supporting pre- and post-deployment activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to technical documentation, demonstrations, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement Azure DevOps (ADO) YAML pipelines from scratch, including stages, jobs, templates, variable groups, environments, and approval workflows based on defined requirements.
• Strong (about 10+ years of experience) hands-on experience with Bash scripting
• Strong experience working with external vendors is mandatory
• Proven experience automating manual processes through scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (preferrable Bicep)
• Strong hands-on experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes, including deployment, troubleshooting, and service management using tools such as Helm and kubectl.
• Extensive experience provisioning and managing Azure resources, as well as administering ADO environments, including projects, repositories, service connections, and agent pools.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux administration, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in working with JSON and YAML for configuration management, scripting, Ansible playbooks, and ADO pipeline definitions.
• Practical experience leveraging AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve development efficiency, with the ability to critically review, test, and validate AI-generated solutions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, solutions, and engineering standards to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

While AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor are part of your daily toolkit once you join B-Yond, all interviews, assessments, and take-home assignments must be completed independently.
