Industrial Truck Mechanic

Job Description Summary The Industrial Truck Mechanic will repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices. The starting wage for an Industrial Truck Mechanic is $36.76 plus a shift premium for off shifts (2nd shift: $.75/hour & 3rd shift $.75/hour). Responsibilities Ability to use Computer Systems to perform tasks such as: Read and send e‑mail. Check inventory. Basic blueprint reading skills. Assist in PM work orders and support the Maintenance Team in equipment repairs. Follow all company, local, state, federal, MIOSHA, OSHA, and DEQ safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations. Observe and listen to trucks in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures. Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. Install new ignition systems, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts. Overhaul gas or diesel engines. Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust. Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Remove and replace worn or defective parts of the drive mechanism or hydraulic system. Adjust components such as clutches. Locate damaged hydraulic lines and replace them. Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired trucks to verify conformance to specifications. Occasionally drive pick‑up trucks/company cars if the operator has a valid driver’s license and is approved by the Company. Maintain and repair floor scrubber, including but not limited to: Drive unit Squeegee Brushes Water and hydraulic pumps Required Skills and Education Valid driver’s license and approval to operate company vehicles.
