Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit in an adult critical care and emergency department setting
• Patient ratio of 1:12-16
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1800-0630
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Performs airway management, intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Provides pulmonary hygiene including suctioning, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen therapy
• Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and SIMV, including weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Assists with patient transport, including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing/respiratory therapy experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• RRT certification required, license required if applicable
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with arterial blood gas interpretation and drawing required
• Experience with chest physiotherapy, including vest therapy
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment and procedures preferred
• Experience administering respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Pulmicort

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Scrub color is not restricted
• RTO limited to 2 requests per contract
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Up to 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules completed through MyPath during orientation
• Pending licenses may be considered, but license must be active and in-hand prior to start date
