Position Summary Under the direction of the Lead Custodian and the general supervision of area manager(s) the incumbent performs cleaning maintenance assignments in various University buildings and external spaces. FLSA : Non-exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation) Anticipated Hiring Range : $ 3,461 (Step 1) per month - $3,822 (Step 6) per month. CSU Classification Salary Range : $3,461 per month (Step 1) - $4,752 per month (Step 17). Salary step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Work Hours : Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with the ability to work irregular work shifts, including weekends and holidays. Position works on-site. Department Information Facilities Management is the steward for the University buildings, infrastructure, grounds and landscape. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety; operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position; use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication; observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required; perform work involving regular physical activity; and establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Some positions may require ability to move up to 50 pounds. License Requirements Some positions may require possession of a valid California driver’s license. Required Qualifications Knowledge/Abilities Knowledge of common custodial procedures and methods Knowledge of safe cleaning practices Ability to provide excellent customer service Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse environment.
