Driver HelperIn your role as a Driver Helper, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:Demonstrating a consistent, positive image of Ace Distributing, its executives, and employees, both within the Ace team and in partnering with customers and the publicKeep work environment and all equipment clean and free of debris including truck cab and truck baysOperate all equipment in a safe and orderly fashionReport any accidents, unsafe conditions, or injuries immediatelyDeliver orders to customers in a prompt, professional, and polite fashionRotate productMaintaining professional appearance with company supplied uniformsPlan route to ensure most economical use of time and equipmentTo be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive drivingValid Driver's License in accordance with insurance company requirements.High School diploma / GEDAbility to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditionsOther important information to consider:The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.This is a safety sensitive position, which means the employee's job performance can affect the safety of the employee and others. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Also, regularly required to walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds regularly; thirty-five (35) to fifty (50) pounds frequently; and up to one hundred eighty (180) pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.Frequently this job requires an employee to walk into the warehouse. The warehouse is not heated or cooled except for the cooler where the temperature is maintained between 32 and 40 degrees. The warehouse can also be very loud due to vehicles and forklifts running.
