Role Overview

As a Security Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of Henry Ford Health¿s facilities, patients, visitors, and employees. Your vigilance helps prevent disturbances, protect property, and maintain a safe environment. This role is essential in upholding the trust and well-being of our community.

What You Will Do

• Monitor Henry Ford Health facilities and properties to protect persons and property against injury or loss.
• Direct visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations.
• Intervene to prevent and control disturbances.
• Keep appropriate persons informed of activities, events, and incidents.
• Summon necessary assistance as required.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Maintain a valid unexpired Michigan operator¿s license
• Satisfactorily complete state minimum training certification requirements and required testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital / Healthcare related security experience
• Prior law enforcement experience in a sworn capacity (Local, State, County, Federal) or four plus (4+) years of military experience with Honorable Discharge

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), required.

• Preference given to:

• Hospital / Healthcare related security experience

-OR-

• Prior law enforcement experience in a sworn capacity, (Local, State, County, Federal)

-OR-

• Four plus (4+) years of military experience with Honorable Discharge.

• May be required to use an intermediate weapon.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Maintain a valid unexpired Michigan operator’s license.

• Satisfactorily complete state minimum training certification requirements and required testing. Annual training and testing requirements must be maintained.
