We're one global team driven by our common purpose to deliver a better world. Join us. AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist I for employment. The appropriately qualified applicant will use Esri’s ArcGIS suite of products on a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects. This position is expected to begin ASAP. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Independently executes and delivers GIS projects varying from basic to moderate to significant scopes and complexity. Develop databases and various mapping outputs to support reports and other project deliverables. Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes. Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components. Use concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients. Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation. Work directly with Level I/II/III/IV GIS Specialists and Project Managers. Assist field teams with field mapping preparation, field data collection/data extraction and other related activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communications skills and ability to independently manage workload schedules. Relevant year/sof GIS or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal and/or other relevant ArcGIS software and an understanding of the ESRI suite of products. AutoCAD experience. Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design.
