Certified Nursing Assistant, Ortho/Neuro Unit - Days

OVERVIEW

As a Clinical Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role on the frontlines of patient care, providing hands-on support that directly impacts comfort, safety, and recovery. Shift

: Days

Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.

~ Documents care provided according to standards.

~ Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.

~ Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.

~ Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.

~ Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator

~ Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency)

~ Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor

~ Managing and reporting collection devices:

~ Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures

~ Indwelling catheters: care and output measures

~ Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN

~ Pursues training and development opportunities; Reacts well under pressure; Uses equipment and materials properly; Utilizes appropriate equipment for partner/patient safety, such as lifts and gait belts.
