Controller (Certified Accountant)

Location: Startbaan 6, 1185 XR Amstelveen, Netherlands - Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)

Duration: 6 Months initially

Rate: 120/hour on B2B contract

Working hours: Monday Friday (40 hours per week: 9am 5pm)

The role

We are looking for a Controllership Contractor to primarily support the Nordics Controllers , all based in Amstelveen, and potentially the Netherlands Controllership team , based in Rotterdam.

The contractor will support recurring controllership activities as well as reporting, statutory, regulatory, and tax-related requirements. The scope may also include project work, such as supporting mergers and other business or organizational changes.

About the Benelux & Nordics Controllership team

• The Benelux & Nordics Controllership team consists of approximately 10 colleagues working across the Amstelveen and Rotterdam offices. It is a team of experienced finance professionals, most of whom have a background in audit and accounting.
• The team has a diverse cultural background and a strong team spirit. It is responsible for the Benelux and Nordics region, covering more than 30 legal entities. Key responsibilities include recurring activities for Group reporting, as well as statutory, regulatory, and tax compliance.
• The wider finance organization works closely with shared service centers in Poland, the UK, and India, providing the contractor with exposure to an international and collaborative operating model.

Hiring Manager Notes:

You are an experienced finance professional who can work independently in a complex, international environment. You bring:

• 3 5 years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounting and tax requirements in the Netherlands and the Nordics
• Experience with US GAAP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with stakeholders across countries and functions
• A background in the insurance industry is appreciated
