Front Desk Night Auditor (Full-Time)

Front Desk Night AuditorThe Front Desk Night Auditor is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all night audit work. The incumbent is responsible for the front desk operation during the overnight shift (typically 9pm-7am). The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the auditing, posting, and balancing of daily financial transactions to support the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Compile and reconcile cashier reports to create a master cashier report.Post revenues to posting masters so that departments receive appropriate credits.Settle all credit card accounts.Precisely follow audit procedures as outlined in the audit instructions.Verify accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other employees.Correct errors or list discrepancies for adjustment.Answer in-coming and in-house phone calls in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Provide callers with information they request regarding property and in-house promotions.Check-in/register guests in an efficient and accurate manner. Be sure proper identification is received and recorded as well as verifying payment information.Check-out guests in an efficient and accurate manner. Be sure all bills are settled before guests leave the property.Keep the front desk well organized and professional. Alert the appropriate personnel for repairs, maintenance, supplies to be ordered and cleaning as needed.Document all guest concerns, problems, etc. in the shift report, guest profile, and copy all significant events to the RFD Manager and/or MOD.Seek help from the RFD Manager or MOD when unable to handle guest inquiries and concerns.Handle disputed guest charges and approve refunds before they are issued.Monitor the activity of all cash-handling employees. Monitor all discounts, complimentary items, and coupons to be sure all are being used in an appropriate manner. Disclose any misuse or misappropriation of funds to management.Perform other duties as assigned.Competencies:Meets the company's guest service standards.Demonstrates teamwork/gets along well with co-workers.Is reliable and dependable.Follows company and departmental policies and procedures.Demonstrates a positive attitude.Responds well to constructive criticism.Qualifications – Education and Experience:Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.Must be at least 18 years of age.Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn hotel property management systems.Basic mathematical skills with the ability to accurately perform calculations, reconcile financial transactions, and balance reports.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling guest information and financial records.Ability to obtain and maintain any required gaming license, if applicable.Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as business needs require.Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in hospitality or related industry.Strong mathematical skills.Attention to detail and organizational skills.Time management and multitasking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to solve problems and diffuse tense situations.Work Environment:The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.Physical Demands:8+ hours per day at standing desk/computer; standing and walking frequently throughout the workday.Bending and light lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally.Ability to independently work during overnight hours.Ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights.Preference:It is the policy of the Bois Forte Band, pursuant to tribal and federal law, to give preference to qualified Native Americans in hiring, promotion, and departmental transfers.
