What You'll Do

As Service Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the Service Department while developing your team and maintaining high standards for customer satisfaction, productivity, quality, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Service Advisors, technicians, and other service personnel
• Create a positive, professional work environment focused on teamwork and employee development
• Oversee the day-to-day operation and workflow of the Service Department
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience and build long-term customer relationships
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address customer concerns promptly and professionally
• Establish and monitor departmental goals for sales, productivity, efficiency, and profitability
• Work closely with Service Advisors to maximize opportunities while ensuring recommendations are honest and customer-focused
• Monitor repair orders and workflow to help ensure timely, accurate completion of repairs
• Help recruit, onboard, train, develop, and retain talented service employees
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support business needs
• Monitor technician productivity and shop efficiency
• Maintain high standards for repair quality and professionalism
• Promote manufacturer-recommended maintenance and dealership service programs
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional Service Department
• Work collaboratively with Parts, Sales, and dealership leadership
• Ensure dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable safety procedures are followed
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, employee engagement, customer retention, and departmental performance

Qualifications

• Previous automotive dealership service management or service leadership experience preferred
• Strong understanding of dealership fixed operations
• Proven leadership and team-development skills
• Strong customer service and conflict-resolution abilities
• Ability to coach and motivate Service Advisors and technicians
• Understanding of service department financial performance and key operating metrics
• Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment
• Strong commitment to ethical business practices and customer satisfaction
• Comfortable working with dealership technology and service-management systems
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
