HR Business Partner

HumCap's client is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support leaders and employees across a multi-site operation. This position serves as a trusted advisor to management, providing strategic and hands-on support in employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.The ideal candidate is a proactive HR professional who thrives in the field, builds strong relationships with operational leaders, and helps drive both people and business results.

Position Overview

The HR Business Partner will work closely with managers and leadership teams to strengthen employee engagement, improve retention, support workforce initiatives, and ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices. This role requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to influence leaders while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
Manager Coaching & Leadership Support

• Partner with managers to strengthen leadership capabilities and employee management practices.
• Provide guidance on performance management, employee development, and workforce challenges.
• Support leaders in making informed people-related decisions that align with business objectives.

Employee Relations

• Serve as a trusted resource for employee relations matters.
• Review and advise on disciplinary actions, performance concerns, and termination decisions.
• Support investigations and conflict resolution efforts while ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Identify risks and escalate sensitive employment matters when appropriate.

Talent & Workforce Planning

• Partner with leaders on workforce planning and staffing strategies.
• Analyze turnover trends and identify opportunities to improve employee retention and engagement.
• Support onboarding, talent development, and succession planning initiatives.
• Conduct stay interviews and gather employee feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Field & Operational Partnership

• Maintain a visible presence within operational locations and foster strong relationships with field leadership.
• Understand business challenges firsthand and provide practical HR solutions.
• Translate business goals into effective people strategies and action plans.
• Act as a bridge between operations and HR to ensure alignment and consistency.

HR Compliance & Process Excellence

• Ensure adherence to company policies, HR procedures, and employment practices.
• Support leaders in maintaining accurate documentation and personnel records.
• Promote consistency across locations regarding employee management practices.
• Leverage HR systems and reporting tools to track trends, metrics, and workforce data.

Qualifications
Required

• 5+ years of HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, or related HR leadership experience.
• Experience supporting multi-site, field-based, manufacturing, industrial, or operational workforces.
• Strong employee relations experience, including coaching managers through performance and corrective action situations.
• Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated success partnering with operational leaders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to support multiple locations.

Preferred

• Experience supporting service, distribution, manufacturing, construction, industrial, or field-based organizations.
• HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
• Experience with workforce planning, retention initiatives, and talent development programs.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making.
