Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Radiologic Technologist II specializing in CT imaging during night shifts. This role involves operating radiology equipment under physician supervision to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity using two forms of identification and confirm physician orders before procedures.
- Participate in mandatory meetings, in-services, and continuing education to maintain competency.
- Maintain departmental competency checklists and utilize resources efficiently.
- Identify and report issues to support problem-solving and process improvements.
- Collaborate positively within a team environment and uphold organizational mission, vision, and values.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain professional communication with patients, team members, physicians, and external agencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Radiologic Technology is required. Demonstrated proficiency in general operating room imaging and at least one specialty area is essential.
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and CT.
- Licensed by the appropriate state board of healing arts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of clinical experience post-graduation is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and radiological positioning protocols.
- Commitment to patient safety and radiation protection following ALARA principles.
- Ability to verify physician orders, explain exam procedures, and obtain informed consent.
- Leadership skills with experience mentoring staff and students.
- Completion of continuing education biannually to maintain licensure and registration.
Physical Requirements
Light physical work involving occasional lifting up to 25 lbs and frequent standing or walking for 11-25% of the day.
