Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A clinical pharmacy opportunity is available for an inpatient pharmacist supporting hospital operations in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This contract-to-hire role requires immediate availability for an assignment lasting 8+ weeks with a schedule Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Conduct prospective medication reviews evaluating appropriateness, dosing, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and duplicate therapies.
• Dispense medications accurately and ensure timely availability for administration.
• Support unit-dose medication distribution and maintain medication supply on inpatient units.
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, expiration date monitoring, and controlled-substance accountability.
• Monitor Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) with a focus on medication availability and accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize medication therapy.
• Provide medication information and clinical recommendations to healthcare staff.
• Monitor patient medication regimens to identify and resolve potential medication-related problems.
• Assist with medication reconciliation, maintain thorough documentation, and uphold comprehensive pharmacy records.

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license in good standing is mandatory.
• Experience in hospital or inpatient pharmacy settings is strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
