Playa Bowls is New Jerseys Original Acai Shop founded in 2014, and our mission is to serve the highest quality, innovative products to support healthier lifestyles and inspire a world of fun, excitement, and togetherness. At Playa Bowls, we live our brand in our actions and in the relationships that we make in our communities. Our focus is to provide a bowl full of deliciousness to every guest, delivered with authenticity and passion for the Playa way. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 200-unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept.

We are local MA owner operators. The ownership team with you is made up of 4 families who's purpose here is to find the right people to run great businesses with, so that your life, our other employees' lives, and everyones' families' lives are all better off because of what we do together in and out of the stores. We're real people, close by, deeply involved in the business, that are here to help and make this an empowering experience for those alongside us for the ride building & growing together.

WHO YOU ARE
You’re a positive and enthusiastic people-person, who may just so happen to have a passion for fruit, superfoods, and all things healthy! As the Manager , you will be doing a variety of tasks from training new employees to strategically resolving problems. If you enjoy fast-paced environments, career growth, entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and an occasional silly food pun, we want you!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create & maintain a high-performance constructive team culture focused on quality, cleanliness, customer experience, & operational excellence
- Manage costs to hit & uphold COGs & other expense standards
- Check products to ensure consistency, palatability, and quality
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, and accommodations
- Project, place, schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
- Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to make sure it’s up to Company Standards
- Schedule staff hours utilizing appropriate systems/software and assign duties to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation
- Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety
- Perform food preparation and service tasks
- Maintain food and equipment inventories
- Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire on-board & train new staff, and evaluate employee performances
- Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services with vendors & officials
- Utilize & troubleshoot POS system, operate & reconcile cash register and make bank deposits.
- Adhere to company opening and closing procedures and maintain accompanying records

REQUIREMENTS
- Must obtain the ServSafe certification, prior to grand opening health inspection
- Must be available to work all store operational hours including nights, holidays, & weekends
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to maintain fast paced work for the duration of each shift
- Must be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds regularly
- Must be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.
