BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery and pick up of goods to specified locations. This position is responsible for safe operations of vehicle, vehicle safety inspection and maintenance, loading and unloading vehicles in a safe an efficient manner.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver items to customers in a professional and prompt manner, focusing on customer service. Strictly adhere to all traffic laws.
• Become familiar with delivery routes and customer preferences. Knowledge of surrounding area a plus.
• Load and unload vans in a careful and efficient manner.
• Maintain vehicle properly and fill out daily forms. Report and record damage to vehicles, product, equipment or property.
• Must be able to safely bend, stoop, lift and move objects, max of 75 pounds. Physically capable of opening boxes, crates and other large containers using hand tools to unpack items received.
• Follow all relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Must be able to communicate and understand the needs of the department and customers.
• Neatness in personal appearance.
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing; daily ongoing communication with management and other team members.
• Assist in the Shipping/Receiving Department when there are no pickups/deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. (accredited)
• Ability to operate Forklift, and associated safety equipment (tie-down straps, hand truck, etc
• NC or VA Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Must be at least 25 years of age
• Experience Preferred: Familiarity with warehouse, manufacturing, or maintenance environments. Mechanical aptitude is a definite plus.
