Assert Motion Physical Therapy in Islip, New York, is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in assisting patients to regain mobility and achieve optimal functionality through personalized therapy plans. As a Physical Therapist, you will focus on enhancing the quality of life for patients by providing expert evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation tailored to their individual needs.

Assert Motion Physical Therapy is a premier orthopedic outpatient practice known for its outstanding patient care and cutting-edge facilities. Our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center spans 5,000 square feet, providing an ideal environment for delivering high-quality sports medicine and rehabilitation services. Our team consists of two experienced physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA) dedicated to fostering a supportive atmosphere that prioritizes patient recovery and engagement.

Work Environment

The ideal candidate will work in an onsite rehabilitation center, where collaboration and communication among the therapy team are prioritized. Our facility is equipped with advanced therapeutic tools and technologies, allowing for innovative treatment methods tailored to each patient's unique circumstances. You will maintain a regular schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring work-life balance while delivering focused and effective care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients' goals and therapeutic needs, taking a holistic approach towards their conditions.
• Manage and engage with a caseload of approximately one patient per hour, ensuring focused attention and personalized care.
• Utilize your expertise in orthopedic outpatient settings to provide evidence-based treatments aimed at improving patient range of motion and mobility.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate a variety of techniques designed to minimize reliance on medication and explore non-surgical intervention options.
• Create tailored fitness and wellness programs that address the individual goals and rehabilitation needs of each patient.
• Motivate and encourage patients throughout their treatment journey, providing emotional support and practical advice on leading a healthier lifestyle.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Document patient interactions and treatment outcomes meticulously to maintain high standards of care and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice primarily serves patients with private medical insurance, offering specialized care to individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. You will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds, focusing on personalized recovery plans that aim to restore their physical capabilities and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and the creation of effective exercise protocols.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients, fostering a positive rehabilitation experience.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) software, specifically WebPT, to document care and manage patient records efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Physical Therapist in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly preferred.
• Track record of successful patient outcomes in rehabilitation settings.
• Familiarity with contemporary treatment methodologies and evidence-based practices to enhance patient recovery.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
